Mayor Joanne Cocchiola and the Greenutley Committee have announced that the second townwide garage sale will be held on Sept. 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is Sept. 26.
The garage sale is a Greenutley Initiative designed to raise awareness of the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling.
“Over 100 households purchased permits and participated in the garage sale last year,” said Cocchiola. “We also had many individuals from neighboring communities visit our township to make purchases, which was a win-win.” The mayor added that many residents reported solid sales and also chose to donate remaining items to local charities.
Permits are available at the mayor’s office in the Department of Public Affairs, 149 Chestnut St. Participating households are required to purchase one. The fees will fund future Greenutley Initiatives. Early registration is encouraged so participating households can be included on promotional materials.
