NHS wrestling team wins SEC championship; gears up for ECT

The Nutley High School varsity wrestling team clinched the Super Essex Conference-American Division championship with its victory over West Orange at the Gift of Life Duals at NHS.
It marked the Raiders’ first SEC championship in head coach Frank DiPiano’s five years at the helm.
The Raiders improved to 14-2 record following the Gift of Life Duals that took place last Friday Jan. 20 and Sunday Jan. 22. NHS defeated Cherry Hill East on Friday Jan. 20. NHS  defeated West Orange and lost to Don Bosco Prep on Sunday Jan. 22.
The Raiders are considered a strong favorite to win the team title at the Essex County Tournament on Friday Jan. 27 and Saturday Jan. 28 at Codey Arena in West Orange.
