Nutley Township will again offer Halloween happenings for its youngsters both before All Hallows Eve and on the holiday itself.
The Nutley Department of Parks and Recreation will host a free Halloween extravaganza tomorrow at DeMuro Park on Margaret Avenue. The second annual Recreation Halloween Parade will begin at 6 p.m. and be followed by a pumpkin patch, moon bounces, blow-up slides, spin art and Halloween craft-making stations, according to the town Web site www.nutleynj.org.
“Last year was the first year we had the parade,” said Parks and Recreation Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci. “It attracted thousands and was a tremendous success.”
A haunted hayride trail with humorous monsters and other Halloween characters will extend to Reinheimer Park.
“We want a safe environment with the parade, costumes and everything else,” said Tucci.
Candy, music, hot dogs and candy apples will be available. In case of poor weather, the festivities will be moved indoors to the Frank Cocchiola Parks and Recreation Building at 44 Park Ave.
“Each year we expand our special events and implement new and exciting activities for residents to enjoy. The Halloween parade will be a great addition to all of our fun-filled festivities,” said Tucci.
