Mayor Joanne Cocchiola and the Greenutley Committee have announced that the second townwide garage sale will be held on Sept. 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is Sept. 26.

The ninth anniversary of Sept. 11 will be honored with somber ceremonies in Nutley and Belleville on Saturday morning. The Nutley observance will be held in front of Town Hall on Kennedy Drive at 11:30 a.m.

The Raiders lost Pat Roche and Dana Principe to graduation. Both runners won the Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division boys’ and girls’ individual titles respectively.

Last week, a water emergency in Nutley brought unnecessary usage to a standstill and had residents boiling their water before drinking it.
In the middle of the day on Aug. 24, the main supplier for Nutley Township, the Passaic Valley Water Commission, experienced a water main break in one of their 51-inch pipes in Clifton. The result led to a host of problems for residents.

Nutley Superintendent of Schools Joe Zarra has revealed that this school year will be his last in the position. The announcement of his retirement was made at the Aug. 23 meeting of the Nutley Board of Education.
