The Nutley High School varsity wrestling team, seeded fourth, defeated fifth-seeded Somerville, 52-18, in the first round of the state North Jersey Section 2, Group 3 tournament.

The Raiders, who improved to 19-3, were scheduled to visit top-seeded South Plainfield on Feb. 8 in the semifinals. The other semifinal pitted third-seeded Iselin Kennedy against second-seeded Warren Hills.

The final is Friday Feb. 10 at the site of the higher-seeded team.

During their football careers at Nutley High School, they have enjoyed countless special memories. 

Reaching the state sectional championship game at MetLife Stadium in their junior year and beating rival Belleville back-to-back seasons on Thanksgiving are just some of the memories they will always cherish.

Now, they are ready to continue their careers in college.

The Nutley High School boys’ varsity bowling team clinched the Super Essex Conference-American Division championship for the third straight season.

The regular season ended with a very exciting week of bowling at Brunswick Zone in Belleville.

The Nutley High School bowling teams defeated Barringer on Jan. 31 at Brunswick Zone in Belleville.

The boys ended up in a tie in the first game before winnng the last two games to remain in first place in the Super Essex Conference-Atlantic Division. The girls won all three games and have solidified second place in the girls' SEC-Atlantic.
